Regional and seasonal

Schleswig-Holstein is known for its fresh produce, sustainable fishing, and livestock farming. We work closely with local farmers who supply us with regional beef, and we focus on sustainable fish farming from Schleswig-Holstein. We guarantee fresh, locally and seasonally selected products.

Pure enjoyment by the lake: From breakfast to wine

Enjoy our rich breakfast buffet every day, featuring fresh homemade smoothies and a selection of delicious egg dishes that we’ll prepare for you directly according to your preferences in our kitchen.

Our head chef creates traditional dishes and regional specialties, such as our lamb shoulder from local salt meadow lamb, slow-cooked to perfection in the oven – a true highlight for connoisseurs. Complementing this, we offer an exquisite selection of over 300 wines from around the world, with a focus on Germany, Italy, and South Africa. Our hotel director will personally guide you through the world of wines and introduce the exclusive South African wines created especially for VITALIA Seehotel.

A Passionate Chef

Andreas Schmidt has been the head chef of VITALIA Seehotel since 2014 and passionately leads the entire gastronomic offering of the hotel. With a keen sense for regional ingredients and a creative touch, he continuously creates new highlights for his guests. He regularly collaborates with renowned Michelin-starred chefs and works to establish the VITALIA Seehotel kitchen as a meeting point for gourmet lovers and fans of regional cuisine.

Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival

Since its founding in 1987, the SHGF has had a special mission: to make the northernmost state of Germany and its high-quality food products known to guests and chefs worldwide. It celebrates gastronomy and culinary arts, attracting people from near and far with the beauty of Schleswig-Holstein. The key to its success are the more than 20 highly awarded chefs from Germany and abroad, who, with their individual styles, philosophies, and techniques, create impressive dishes from regional products.

We are particularly proud to offer our venue for this special event again in the upcoming season and additionally support the guest chefs with our VITALIA Seehotel team. We look forward to the upcoming culinary highlights and the exchange with guests and colleagues!

A Preview of SHGF 2025: Experience, Discover, Inspire

Tony Hohlfeld is passionate about the creative use of regional ingredients, utilizing every part, such as vegetable scraps, to create seasoning powders. His restaurant, which opened in Hannover in 2015, is named after the Danish Jante Law. The Michelin-starred chef creates a vibrant and colorful array of flavors through innovative techniques.
